I don't know where this would belong but I feel it belongs with PSP stuff, but not in any other subforum. Over a good while, I've been trying to find some information on ripping files out of PSX games, but generally the files/sites are down. (I'm a young one, so when that craze was around, I was just learning what computers could really do.) With all my discs sitting, limited MS space, and short attention span, having a lot to play at once is nice. So does anyone have a tutorial for PSX ripping? If I find one, and it's in demand, I'll gladly post it! I mean removing elements from the game, and repacking the ISO so it compresses into something smaller.
PSX games also run better & faster via ISO, as opposed to playing them via a CD-ROM drive. The following directions will show you how to rip your game CD. Specifically, it'll be ripped to “ BIN/CUE ”. Hi, I would like to know with which plug-in or program I can rip textures from PSX games. I know there is a certain plug-in for N64 emulator, therefore I'd like to know how it works with the ePSXe emulator.
I have Driver, the original, on disc. I once downloaded a version, however, that was 20 MB, had video and audio (voice) removed. With it, it compresses somewhere in the 100-200 MB range.
There are a lot of games like that. Thing is, the files either have to be replaced with like files (ie. Same format) or if you're lucky, zeroed out. LBA tables must be maintained, which I also do not know how to do. Nor do I know how to replace files in an image. Is it possible UMDTools will open a PSX ISO? If so, I'm one step closer, in that I can take all files but the smallest out, and should be able to maintain LBA tables.
Is there requirements for dummying a file and formats? Oh, in that case, i think your best bet would be to find some program that'll take loose files/folders and compress them into an iso format, much like wninzip/rar.
Winrar can unpack iso files as if they were a rar file, but as for recompressing them back into that format, it won't pull that off. Oh, but i believe you can use Alcohol 120% (needs to be bought for full version) and it'll take random files and folders and arrange them into what you can burn to disc. Next step would then be to re-rip it to an image for psx2psp if it would work.
